While sliding, folding or standard push-pull doors are part of style, they are given much important because they also have a lot to do with space. Sliding and folding patio doors are more preferred since they can give you more house space. Not only that, but a patio door that folds can also lead to a wide open patio that can make the sun shine in your home. Deciding on the type of opening for your door is based on your general preference; be informed though that there are many options to choose from.
Remember, when it comes to hardwood patio doors, you dont have to settle for the same old look everyone else has. In fact, its a good idea to do some online research and look at some photos of wooden doors, which can be a big help when youre trying to decide what you like best. To keep maintenance to a minimum, you can have the wood treated with a weatherproofing formula that protects the wood finish. This allows you to enjoy your patio and those stylish doors for many years to come.
An alternative solution is to order patio doors with integral horizontal blinds, factory sealed inside the double-glazing cavity. Proven to be reliable, the blinds can be operated via a magnet system (there is an alternative electronic option) that enables the slats to be easily angled to control the amount of light filtering through and can also raise and lower the blinds for maximum light or shade. A major advantage of opting for internally sealed blinds rather than separate blinds is that they are totally maintenance-free - no arduous dusting or cleaning - and because the blinds are encapsulated inside the glazed panels, they are exceptionally difficult to break.
Remove the two screws holding the bottom section of the frame. There is one screw either side of the bottom section. Once these have been removed the bottom section can be prized away from the rest of the frame. Be careful not to lever against the glass or you could shatter it. When the bottom section is clear from the rest of the frame you will be able to remove the wheels. Some wheels have a screw holding them in and some are pressed into a holding bracket. If the retaining screws have rusted you can carefully drill them out, taking care not to make the hole in the bottom section any bigger. Contact your local Hardware Store, Glazing Shop or search on Google for replacement wheels.
